Meet the Team: Caroline

We talk to our newest recruit Caroline who tells us about her background in early years and ambitions at Capture.

Tell us about your role here at Capture

My role at Capture is very exciting and varies day to day. I’m based at our head office in Liverpool and I’m responsible for reaching out to engage new and existing Capture users.

Having worked within Early Years settings previously, I am very passionate about the service we provide and can see the full value in using a digital learning journal. I use my own knowledge and expertise to host presentations of the system that give practitioners an insight into the benefits of using Capture Education.

The time spent on paperwork and its negative impact on time spent with the children was my main deciding factor in moving from a nursery to nannying in a family home. I feel a real sense of pride in getting nurseries on board with Capture as it solves this problem in a really positive way.

It’s important for me to maintain good relationships with our nurseries and childminders; sometimes I’ll call to just check-in and see how they’re getting on with the system. My days are busy but very rewarding!

Talk us through your experience in Early Years

Before joining Capture, I worked as a private nanny. I have worked as both a live-in and live-out nanny to a couple of different families. This was a fantastic experience for me and working within the family home taught me a lot. Not just with regard to the children and their learning/development, but also the family dynamic and parenting techniques.

Prior to this, I worked at a lovely day nursery within a baby room as ‘second in charge’. I had the experience of being a team leader which was fantastic for my growth as a practitioner and team member.

My latest role is here at Capture which I am thoroughly enjoying and feel it has been a positive next step for my career.

What do you like about working at Capture?

I love many things about working at Capture. I would say that being around other education professionals is a positive change and something I am really enjoying after working independently for the last few years. We all have varied areas of knowledge and expertise and it is great to learn from one another and share skills.

Receiving positive feedback from our settings and knowing how happy they are with the Capture system is also a proud moment. To have them say how much it is helping them and making a positive impact within their setting for children, practitioners and parents makes all the work we do so worthwhile.

What have you learnt since joining the team?

Through working within a great company like Capture, I’ve learnt many new skills and the importance of team work in fulfilling the needs of all our settings. From the initial conversation with a Nursery, to the technical support team, our marketing department and to our Early Years professionals.

It has been so interesting to see all the hard work from many different people that goes into contributing to the day to day running of Capture. Every day I feel I learn something new being here and that provides me with great job satisfaction.

What are you looking forward to at Capture over the next 12 months?

I am looking forward to continuing to grow and expand as a company and maintain the high quality service we offer. We’ve had such a positive reaction over the last few  years from our Nurseries and Childminders using the system and I am very excited to see what the future has in store for all of us within the Capture team.

Over the next year, I would love to see the numbers of settings taking advantage of Capture continue to grow and for our digital learning journey to become even more popular. I very much look forward to supporting more practitioners in making the positive change from paper to digital. Continuing to grow within my own professionalism and seeing what future opportunities may arise within the company is also very exciting!
